When viewing Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Master Grande Tradition à Quantième Perpétuel 8 jours SQ or the skeletonised perpetual calendar watch with 8 days of power reserve, do take note of three main handcrafted elements: the skeletonising, engraving and enamelling.
The skeletonised movement is apparent and so is the transparent blue enamel work on the rim of the dial where the hour indexes are represented. The blue enamel can also be viewed from the rear of the watch.
Look closer and one can see the hand-engraved guilloché work on the bridges and various components. The hand-engravings are more prominent at the rear of the movement.
Powered by the Calibre 876SQ manual-winding movement comprising 262 components, this Master Grande Tradition à Quantième Perpétuel 8 jours SQ has eight days of power reserve after being fully wound, as its name implies.
This beautiful timepiece is Jaeger-LeCoultre’s “only perpetual calendar watch with an 8-day power reserve.” What’s more, all the perpetual calendar functions are set by a single date corrector.
