The “Horse” on the dial seen above was created using the Grand Feu champlevé, flinqué and enamelling techniques. It is Paul Picot’s way of celebrating the Chinese Year of the Horse and this artistic piece adds another model to the brand’s “L’art de L’email” collection.

“Hollows” are created on the dial to be filled with enamel with the champlevé technique while incisions are made on tiny surfaces to intensify colours with the flinqué technique. The dial is enamelled and has to be vitrified at 850 degrees Celsius.

The result is an intense rendition of the equine that has played a major role in the development of mankind.
